A hearty thanks to all who were involved with Diversity's Blindfold Chess with Coach Jay. Coach Jay won against the Diversity Team (Anthony Hung, Alexander Hung, Rianne Sanchez, Shyam Gandhi, Rebecca Sanchez), the Two-person U1200 Simul against Christopher Hung and Adrian Chang, and against Evan and Shelley Anthopoulos of the Three-person U1000 Simul. Harrison Chen checkmated Coach Jay in 23 moves amidst a chaotic start that overwhelmed our communication and administration of the U1000 Simul. The Burl Team (Chiron, Orion, and dad Mike) won the best game award from Coach Jay. They won when time ran out after 50 moves but had a clear advantage with a Queen and several passed pawns vs. two Rooks. Orion made the decisive 32. ... Nc5! that changed the complexion of the game. To see all the games, download the PGN file. Special thanks to Maggie Chang for providing food and refreshments. Special thanks to David Anthopoulos and Rebecca Sanchez for lending a hand during the Three-person U1000 Simul. Special thanks to Coach Jay for partaking in our wonderful and unique event.
