type='text'>

It was interesting to see how a team of 3 or 5 players brainstormed to play against a blindfolded opponent. An interesting idea may be to play a team match against other teams. Team members take turns making a move and the team can discuss what their next move should be. However, the final decision rests on the one whose turn it is to make a move. What do you think?

A hearty thanks to all who were involved with Diversity's Blindfold Chess with Coach Jay. Coach Jay won against the Diversity Team (Anthony Hung, Alexander Hung, Rianne Sanchez, Shyam Gandhi, Rebecca Sanchez), the Two-person U1200 Simul against Christopher Hung and Adrian Chang, and against Evan and Shelley Anthopoulos of the Three-person U1000 Simul. Harrison Chen checkmated Coach Jay in 23 moves amidst a chaotic start that overwhelmed our communication and administration of the U1000 Simul. The Burl Team (Chiron, Orion, and dad Mike) won the best game award from Coach Jay. They won when time ran out after 50 moves but had a clear advantage with a Queen and several passed pawns vs. two Rooks. Orion made the decisive 32. ... Nc5! that changed the complexion of the game.
